Argentina coach Jorge Sampaoli's tour in Europe has come to an end and he has spoken about the players he has been catching up with.
In the case of Inter forward Icardi and Real Madrid's interest, he said: "It's a nice problem to have so many players in good form.
"I spoke to Icardi and I told him that if he doesn't relax in the second part of the season he will be called up for the World Cup this summer.
"I also know that Real Madrid are following him closely."
Icardi would be available for Champions League football given Inter were not in the competition, but it's more likely the European champions are thinking about a summer deal.
Zinedine Zidane has made it quite clear he doesn't think any new signings are needed this month.
