The Belgian goalkeeper is ready to become the first big signing of the Lopetegui era

Belgiuan goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is set to become the first big name signing of the Julen Lopetegui era at Real Madrid, as the Spanish side and Chelse have reached a deal over his transfer fee, report RMC Sport.

Madrid will pay 35 million euros for the Belgian national team stopper, who had a fine World Cup. The report says he will join Real Madrid when his holidays are over and the deal is sealed after several weeks of work.

NEGOTIATION

Chelsea have not had any choice but to negotiate with Madrid, given Courtois has just one year left on his deal and does not want to renew it, despite numerous offers from the London club.

Florentino Perez, Madrid president, has wanted a top class stopper to replace Keylor Navas for some time after the failed attempt to sign David de Gea.
