Red alert at Real Madrid with Benzema and Mendy doubtful for Clasico
The duo, nailed Madrid starters, are injured and are likely to miss the game
Real Madrid are pessimistic about the possibility of Karim Benzema and Ferland Mendy playing the Clasico on Sunday. Both came off injured on Monday night against Real Mallorca.
Per Marca, Benzema came to training to work with the physios on Tuesday to try and get ready for the Clasico. However his sensations weren’t good and he will have an MRI on Wednesday to see if there’s a rupture or not.
Mendy had abductor trouble and will need to be examined too.
Madrid are 10 points clear at the top of the table so they will also be concerned about how long the injuries might be with regard to the Champions League.
