Ronaldo is currently in Russia ahead of this summer's Confererations Cup

Cristiano Ronaldo will not return to Real Madrid, according to Portuguese outlet Record. The decision has been taken by Ronaldo, who is currently with Portugal in Russia ahead of the Confererations Cup.

According to the report, Ronaldo has been contacted by various people in the last few days to manifest to him that that they're not happy about the situation which has led to him being accused of tax evasion.

Some of these personalities have been quick to point out that "Spain will thus lose its largest individual [tax] contributor."

Earlier this week a Spanish state prosecutor accused Ronaldo of creating an offshore company to defraud authorities of 14.7 million euros in unpaid taxes.

On Wednesday, Ronaldo said that his "conscience is clear" from Portugal's base in Russia and on Thursday he posted a message on Instagram saying: "Sometimes the best answer is to be quiet."

The report in Record comes after A Bola reported Ronaldo wants to leave Real Madrid this summer.
