The Spanish midfielder is not in Zidane's plans and could leave in the summer

Dani Ceballos does not want to spend another year in the background. During Zinedine Zidane's first spell at the club, it was clear the French coach didn't count on him.

The ex-Real Betis midfielder had a bigger role under Julen Lopetegui and Santi Solari. But with the return of Zidane, he is ready to leave Madrid and join a club where he will play more regularly.

Tottenham would fit those demands. He is a player who is drawing interest from Spurs coach Mauricio Pochettino, according to Diario AS.

He could even be the replacement for Christian Eriksen, if the Danish playmaker leaves Spurs this summer. Ceballos would be a good addition for Pochettino, who has seen his squad left short at times this season due to injuries.

The midfielder is waiting for news on his future. He knows the Madrid would prefer a loan. He is currently preparing for the U21 European Championships this summer with Spain but there could be news on his future beforre the tournament starts on June 15.
