Real Madrid reserve legendary '5' shirt for Mbappé
The French forward has been earmarked to wear the same number as one of his heroes
According to Spanish daily 'AS', Real Madrid are preparing to officially present Kylian Mbappé at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu on 10 September.
The same outlet has also reported that 'Los Blancos' will give the French forward the number '5' shirt, once worn by his childhood hero and Real Madrid legend, Zinedine Zidane.
His preferred numbers, 7 and 9, are currently occupied by Eden Hazard and Karim Benzema, respectively. The '5' is currently occupied by Vallejo, but the club will try to persuade him to give up his shirt number for the French star.
Other options would be the number '19' or the number '23', as made famous by David Beckham.
