Real Madrid have prepared their Mbappe Plan B

Real Madrid's top priority is the arrival of Kylian Mbappe. He is the only signing still needed to complete the squad, but they are not going to wait forever for the Frenchman to decide to take the plunge. While PSG are waiting for movement and the player is still determined to fulfil his one-year contract with the Parisians to leave in June 2024 for free, Real Madrid are making moves in case the Frenchman's signing does not happen or has to be postponed.

According to Cadena SER, the club have already found a No 9 to cover Benzema's absence if Kylian Mbappe does not don the white strip in this transfer window: Dusan Vlahovic. The Juventus striker, who is not coming off the back of his best season in a team that has completely floundered, is the one chosen by Madrid to shore up the attack, heavily depleted with the departures of Benzema and Asensio.

Right now, Ancelotti only has Vinicius, Rodrygo and Joselu as purely attacking players, while he also has midfielders such as Brahim or Arda Güler who can drop onto the flanks. However, something else is missing up top and Vlahovic could be the ideal 'plan B' for Real Madrid. At Juventus he has not performed at his best, but at Fiorentina he proved his worth and became one of the most promising strikers on the world stage.

That said, he cost Juventus more than 80 million euros, so his departure would not come cheap. Be that as it may, he is an option that could be available to Real Madrid in case Mbappe's arrival is not possible. The Serbian has very different characteristics to Mbappe. He is more of a pure No 9, more of a penalty area player and with less quality than the Frenchman, but he would complement Rodrygo and Vinicius perfectly.

We will also see what Juve's plans are for Vlahovic. Despite not having had his best season, he is one of the great players available to the 'Vecchia Signora' along with Chiesa, so his departure is not going to be easy to secure. Chelsea and now Real Madrid are after him.
