Real Madrid player ratings as Mariano impresses vs. Cultural Leonesa

Real Madrid confirmed their place in the next round of the Copa del Rey with a 6-1 win over Cultural Leonesa as Mariano impressed with a hat-trick. 

It eased Madrid through with a 13-2 aggregate win following an even bigger first leg win. They didn't make it this far last season, remember, as they were thrown out for playing the suspended Denis Cheryshev. 

Aside from Mariano's treble on his first start for the club, James Rodriguez, Enzo Zidane and an own goal completed the scoring.  

CASILLA (5) Spectator

Played for 75 minutes before being replaced. Had little to do, although he did concede a goal. Got a hand to it, but would have been asking a lot to keep it out. 

CARVAJAL (6) Solid

More like a training session for the right-back. Played for the first 45 minutes and was then given a rest with the Clasico in mind.

PEPE (6) Calm

Focused more on attacking than having to defend. A game where he had very little of his day job to do.

NACHO (6) Versatile

Not a lot was asked of him. Didn't commit any mistakes, but didn't do too much to stand out, either. Played in the middle of the back four here, to the left of Pepe, and his versatility is proving key. 

TEJERO (6) Attacking

Castilla player offered a lot on the left and even came close to scoring with a shot which the Cultural stopped with his feet.

JAMES (5) Irregular

The Colombian continues to struggle to hit his best form. It's clear he's not doing enough to earn his place in the side and won't start at Camp Nou after playing 90 minutes here. 

CASEMIRO (5) Dense

Zidane wanted to test his fitness after a long-term injury. The sensations were positive. Was a little slow and out of rhythm at times, but came through 90 minutes.

ISCO (6) Consistent

Basically spent the first half warming up before making way for Enzo, but there were some nice touches and he's in good form. There's a good chance he will start the Clasico. 

ODEGAARD (5) Erratic

Didn't display too much on his first Madrid start. A little inconsistent. Looked good in phases and started well, but so often things came to nothing.

MARIANO (8) Killer

A complete performance from the forward, socring a hat-trick and showing what a striker is all about. He'll take the match ball home -- Benzema should be worried!

ASENSIO (6) Declining

Started the game well, setting up the first game, but offered less of his talent as the game progressed. Another who won't start at Camp Nou.

VARANE (6) Serious

Came on in the second half to take Carvajal's place. Demonstrated his pace and his anticipation on a return from a slight knock.

ENZO ZIDANE (6) Opportune

Son of manager Zinedine, he came on at half time and celebrated his first appearance with a goal. No doubt his father will be proud. No-one can accuse the Madrid coach of nepotism, at least not today.

YAÑEZ (N/A) Testimonial

Game on for 15 minutes in goal and had nothing to do.
