According to AS, the Welshman's future remains in serious doubt

Gareth Bale, due to repeated injury problems, still doesn't offer the consistency that his signing promised. According to AS, Real Madrid are now contemplating letting him go in January.

It's not the first time the Welsh forward has had one foot out of the club. Madrid's idea is to bring an end to their relationship with Bale, with the hope that they can move him on from Zinedine Zidane's squad before the season ends.

Bale has still not returned to action since getting injured in Wales' Euro 2020 against Croatia -- even though it was said he'd only gone off with cramp.

To avoid problems, he had missed the Champions League game against Club Brugge only to get injured while with his national team earlier this month.

He has since missed the games against Mallorca and Galatasaray amid reports he has told the club not to release his medical reports, meaning it's unknown when he's expected back in action.
