His contract situation with Man City's not straight forward

Real Madrid are keeping a close eye on the negotiations between Manchester City and one of their young stars, England international Raheem Sterling.

Madrid have been put on alert with Sterling about to move into the last two years of his contract and yet to agree on a renewal with the Premier League leaders.

The future of Sterling, therefore, is up for debate and that's where Madrid come into play, according to the Daily Mirror, who say the La Liga champions are monitoring the situation.

Sterling's enjoying a fine season, one of the best of his career, scoring 20 goals and emerging as a key player in Pep Guardiola's side.

The 23-year-old is of interest to Zinedine Zidane, who has put Los Blancos on alert over his possible signing. Along with striker Harry Kane, Sterling's one of the form players in England and now he wants a contract to match.
