Real Madrid give PSG deadline to accept latest offer for Mbappe

| sport

Madrid have offered around 180 million euros for the France forward, who will be free next summer

On the day of Lionel Messi's debut, Kylian Mbappe will also be news. The French striker will be in the squad for Paris Saint-Germain's game against Reims this weekend, according to L'Equipe. It could be the first and last time that he plays alonside Messi and Neymar... or not.

Real Madrid-PSG tension

Real Madrid's push to sign Mbappe continues. Madrid and PSG are playing their hands while the player, who has not publicly got involved, appears relaxed on social media. He uploaded an image of himself smiling during training, alongside Messi, in the build-up to this weekend's game.

Madrid's position is now firm. According to Le Parisien, they have handed PSG an ultimatum: Either they accept their latest offer or the deal won't happen in the current window. According to El Chiringuito, Madrid's deadline is Aug. 30 at 18.00h.

Remember that Madrid's last bid was worth around 180 million euros.

Pochettino's stance

So far this season, coach Mauricio Pochettino has counted on Mbappe, despite the situation. PSG continue to do so, too, even though an injury could ruin things -- although the French club have no urgency to sell from a financial point of view, although they do risk losing Mbappe for free next summer when his contract expires.

Pochettino said Saturday that Mbappe is "working well, like always, getting ready for the game." On a possible exit, he added: "Our president and sporting director have made the club's posture very clear. If Mbappe's commented that he wants to leave? No."
