Florentino Perez knew that Solari had to go but the players wanted Zidane back

Real Madrid chief Florentino Perez knew that Santiago Solari could not continue in charge and he wanted Jose Mourinho back. Everyone knows he likes the Portuguese coach. He's always defended him and believed that Mou fought well against Pep's Barca.

After the humiliating season has had, Florentino was angry with the squad and wanted a tough guy to come in and put the dressing room to rights. He knew Mourinho was the man for the job.

However, that went out of the window after the heavyweights at the club spoke up. The top players vetoed the arrival of Mourinho, considering he would only create more problems and not bring any positive solutions.

So Perez turned to his second option. Bringing back Zinedine Zidane.

The main two stars who didn't want Mourinho back were Sergio Ramos and Karim Benzema. Zidane works in the opposite way to Mou, he likes a constructive dialogue.
