Real Madrid demand "utmost respect" for Cristiano Ronaldo against tax claims

Real Madrid have still not given their version on the information which has appeared in recent days claiming supposed tax evasion by their star player Cristiano Ronaldo.

Los Blancos, though, have not released a statement in defence of Ronaldo. They ask for the "utmost respect" to be shown towards the player and highlight his "exemplary conduct" during his time as a Real Madrid player.

Cristiano Ronaldo, reportedly, has avoided paying tax on 150 million euros for image rights. The information was published in El Mundo following an investigation in cooperation with other media outlets from around Europe.

Real Madrid have wanted to defender their player through the following statement:

"In view of the stories published over recent days and in consideration of the certificate issued by the Spanish Tax Agency which confirms that our player Cristiano Ronaldo is up to date with all of his tax obligations, Real Madrid C. F. call for the utmost respect to be shown towards Cristiano Ronaldo, whose conduct has been absolutely exemplary throughout all of his time at our club."
