Encuentro correspondiente a la trigésima séptima jornada de LaLiga Santander disputado en el estadio Santiago Bernabéu ante 56.474 espectadores. El público le cantó el cumpleaños feliz a Marcelo, que hacía 30 años.
Celta, with nothing much to play for, didn't play. Bale opened the scoring in the 13th minute, breaking in behind the defence to reach Luka Modric's pass and he drilled it home into the bottom corner.
Then when Isco played him in Bale added a superb second, lashing the ball into the top corner. Few others could score a goal like that and if Zidane picks him against Liverpool, he will be out to show what he can do again, against Premier League opponents.
Of course, there was some controversy. Casemiro got away with a clear foul on Brais Mendez in the box and Bale's first goal might have been given offside.
But ultimately it didn't matter too much, given Madrid were improving and Celta getting steadily worse.
Isco wrapped his foot around a sweet third, curled into the top corner, and Achraf made it four just after half-time after being played in by Benzema.
Sergio Gomez put the fifth through his own net from Marco Asensio's low cross and Toni Kroos tucked in the sixth.
