Incidencias

Partido de ida de los cuartos de final de la Copa del Rey disputado en el Santiago Bernabéu en presencia de 55.000 espectadores.

The Catalans, who knocked Atletico Madrid out in the last round, took a surprise lead at the Santiago Bernabeu through former Barca player Anthony Lozano.

However, Madrid, who named a strong side, responded when Lucas Vazquez drew them level from inside the area.

Santiago Solari's side were ahead by the break thanks to Ramos' cool Panenka penalty -- do goalkeepers not know they're coming yet?

Girona, who host Barça in La Liga on Sunday, got back into the game from the penalty spot in the second half. Alex Granell converted after Marcos Llorente's handball but Madrid then pulled away.

Ramos restored their lead with header after good work from Marcelo and Karim Benzema added the goal which should see them into the last four.

Girona, in the end, paid for their boldness. But they will have a chance to turn things around in the second leg at Montilivi next week.
