Real Madrid 4-1 Real Sociedad: Comeback win before PSG come to town

Camavinga, Modric, Benzema and Asensio were all on target for Los Blancos at the Bernabeu

Real Madrid came from behind to smash Real Sociedad 4-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday to move eight points clear at the top of LaLiga.

Eduardo Camavinga, Luka Modric, Karim Benzema and Marco Asensio were all on target as Madrid took full advantage of second-placed Sevilla's draw at Alaves on Friday.

La Real had taken a 10th minute lead through Mikel Oyarzabal's penalty but Madrid scored two screamers just before half-time to lead at the break.

Camavinga in the 40th minute and Modric in the 43rd both found the net from long-range to turn the game in Madrid's favour.

Carlo Ancelotti's side dominated in the second half but they had to wait until the final 15 minutes to kill off the match.

Benzema had a goal ruled out because Rodrygo was offside in the build-up but finally added Madrid's third from the penalty spot in the 76th after VAR ruled that Vinicius had been fouled just inside the box.

Asensio completed the scoring minutes later, turning home Dani Carvajal's cutback after a fine pass from Casemiro.

For Madrid, the win was the perfect way to warm-up for Wednesday's huge Champions League tie against Paris Saint-Germain in the Spanish capital.

PSG head to Madrid with a 1-0 lead from the first leg thanks to Kylian Mbappe's late winner in Paris.
