Real Madrid 2-1 Sevilla: Late Vinicius golazo seals the three points

The Brazilian struck late on as Madrid moved four points clear in LaLiga

Real Madrid needed a fair share of luck and a wonder goal from Vinicius Jr. as they came from behind to beat Sevilla 2-1 at the Bernabeu on Sunday.

Vinicius struck the winner in the 87th minute to seal a fourth straight league win for Carlo Ancelotti's side as they moved four points clear at the top of LaLiga.

For Sevilla, it was a missed chance to make their mark on the title race. Rafa Mir had given them the lead but they were made to rue missed chances as Karim Benzema levelled after a Yassine Bounou's error before Vinicius' late winner.

Julen Lopetegui's side remain fourth in LaLiga, five points behind pace-setters Madrid.

The evening had started so well in Madrid for Sevilla when Mir headed them into a 12th-minute lead. Mir then saw a double chance pass him by, with David Alaba clearing off the line before Thibaut Courtois saved.

Lucas Ocampos then smashed the bar from distance before having a clear penalty appeal turned down after being brought down by Alaba.

Sevilla paid the price for missed chances in the 32nd minute when Bounou spilled Militao's speculative effort and Benzema pounced on the rebound.

The second half was more even but a draw looked on the cards until Vinicius picked up the ball on the flank late on. After controlling with his chest, he advanced inside past two defenders before finding the top corner from 20 yards.

There was still time for Sevilla to nearly snatch a late equaliser, but Courtois made a fine stoppage-time save to keep out substitute Thomas Delaney.
