Real Madrid were offered no challenge by a pathetic Los Che performance on Sunday

Valencia made it very, very, very, very easy for Real Madrid on Sunday.

Karim Benzema and Toni Kroos scored two nice goals but Los Blancos barely had to break a sweat to reclaim second place in La Liga.

Atletico Madrid lead the way, five points and two games fewer than Real, but Zinedine Zidane’s side have won three on the trot now.

Benzema broke the deadlock by curling home from the edge of the box, with Jaume Domenech unable to reach his effort.

Thibaut Courtois made one stop from Maxi Gomez, but that was all he had to do.

Kroos finished after good work from Lucas Vazquez just before half-time.

The Spanish winger had come on for Dani Carvajal, injured on his return to action and the one sour note for Zizou.

"In each match we try to win and take the three points, that's all we can do, we can't control anything else," said Kroos.

"Scoring goals is nice but the most important thing is to help the team."
