Real Madrid 2-0 Granada: With the wind always blowing in their favour

Somehow the officials did not give the visitors a penalty for a Casemiro foul

Casemiro and Karim Benzema grabbed the goals as Real Madrid did not slip up against Granada, although they had the officials to thank yet again.

With the score goalless, Casemiro tugged back Yangel Herrera in the area but the referee did not point to the spot and VAR did not correct him.

In the second half Casemiro headed home and Benzema scored from the edge of the box in stoppage time to wrap up the points. Madrid are level with Atletico at the top of the table on 32 points, although they have played two extra games.

The bad news from the game came when Rodrygo Goes went down in the first half after a sprint and appeared to sustain a thigh injury. He went off on a stretcher.

Marco Asensio, by contrast, was a bright spot. He came on for Rodrygo, hit the post with a fine backheel effort and then moments later crossed for Casemiro to score. A good outing for the Spaniard and a good night, by and large, for Zinedine Zidane.
