New Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti spoke about Sergio Ramos' future in his presentation

Carlo Ancelotti has officially opened his second spell as Real Madrid coach. He was presented on Wednesday after being appointed on Tuesday and spoke about a number of issues, leaving Sergio Ramos' future at the club in the air.

Ramos is out of contract at the end of June and has not yet agreed a new deal to stay at the club.

"I've just arrived, I have to talk with the club about all that," he said when asked about Ramos. "I never imagined a Real Madrid without Ancelotti, and it happened.

"We all have to accept it... I know all the players well, it's good to return and work with them and Sergio Ramos is one of them.

"He's been fundamental to all the successes the club has had. He's talking about his renewal but as I say, until yesterday I was in Liverpool. When I know the details we can talk more openly."

Beyond Ramos, Ancelotti says that Madrid's squad is capable of fighting for all trophies but said that there are too many players and some will have to leave.

However, he left the door open to using Gareth Bale, who could return from a loan spell at Tottenham, and Eden Hazard, who's underperformed in two years at the club so far.

On the possibility of signing Cristiano Ronaldo, he said: "I have a lot of affection for him but I don't like to talk about players at other clubs. He has a contract with Juventus and it doesn't seem right to speak about him.

"I can talk about the affection I have for him and how happy I am with how well he is still doing... He scored 35 goals! He's not at the end of his career."

As for Kylian Mbappe, Ancelotti said that "quality players always improve your chances of winning trophies."
