Mauricio Pochettino says there's no chance Bale returns to the Premier League as the transfer is 'unrealistic'

Tottenham Hotspur coach, Mauricio Pochettino, was very clear in his response to a question about Gareth Bale possibly returning to the Premier League this summer. The Argentine took questions from the media after his side lost to Barcelona on penalties in the United States.

"I think it's not realistic," when asked about a potential Spurs return for Bale. These stories picked up traction when Bale revealed his future could be away from Real Madrid following their Champions League triumph over Juventus. Although they have appeared less often now that Cristiano Ronaldo has left the club.

Florentino Perez sees Gareth as one of the most important players at Real Madrid and his exit this summer appears to be very unlikely. Bale's contract runs until 2022 and his buyout clause is €500m.

The Welshman, who congratulated British cyclist Geraint Thomas following his Tour de France victory, is currently with Real Madrid in the United States. There he'll face off against Mourinho's Manchester United on Wednesday and Juventus, without Cristiano, on Sunday.
