Real Madrid reduce Cristiano Ronaldo's buyout clause to just €120m

According to 'OK Diario', Cristiano Ronaldo has succeeded in getting Real Madrid to lower his buyout clause from €1000m to €120m this summer

The Portuguese superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo, has reached an agreement with Real Madrid to reduce his buyout clause this summer. Cristiano's clause has dropped from €1000m to just €120m in order to make his exit from the club a lot easier. This is according to an exclusive by 'OK Diario'.

The source says that Real Madrid and Cristiano reached this agreement between the end of January and beginning of February. The clause was originally reduced to €400m and later €120m in order for Cristiano to leave should a sizeable offer come in for his services. €120m, in today's market, would represent quite a steal.

However, as it common in these contracts which are signed with Real Madrid, there are plenty of variables and clauses which could stop Cristiano from leaving the club. This current €120m clause isn't available to Spanish teams, notably Barcelona, nor PSG, who hold a long standing interest in the player.

After his controversial declarations following the Champions League final, Cristiano is now fully focused on taking Portugal as far in possible at the World Cup. But this does mean that the Premier League is Cristiano's most likely destination if the reduction in his buyout clause is confirmed. He won't be short of offers either and a return to Manchester United might be his best option.
