Nacho's horror tackle on Portu earns three game ban, misses clásico

The Real Madrid man learned his punishment for his late red card vs. Girona on Tuesday

The Spanish Football Federation's Competition Committee has issued its decision on Nacho's red card at Montilivi for his terrible tackle on Portu.

The centre-back has been sanctioned with a three match ban "for using dangerous play causing damage that impairs the faculties of the offended party, with an additional fine of €1,050 for the club and €600 for the offender," according to the resolution of the body, which has appealed to article 122 of the regulations to make this decision.

In this way, one of the matches that will be missed will be the clásico, which will be played on 28 October at Montjuïc. The first will be against Osasuna on Saturday 7 October at 16:15h, and the second will be on 21 October against Sevilla at the Pizjuán.

Real Madrid have already sent an appeal to the Committee in which they underlined the importance of the "exemplary professional career of Mr Fernández Iglesias in terms of fair play and respect for opponents."

In addition to highlighting that "the player who was sent off, once the match was over, did not hesitate to publicly apologise to the rival player through the social network Instagram, clearly showing his regret."

However, the Committee did not accept these allegations and sanctioned the player with a three-match ban.

If Alaba fails to recover in time for Saturday, Ancelotti will only be able to rely on Rüdiger as a pure centre-back. He will therefore have to use Mendy or Tchouaméni as centre-backs, or use the youth team.
