Real Madrid prepared for the Club World Cup in fine style as they thrashed Sevilla. They won 5-0 without Varane and Sergio Ramos, with a makeshift defence in place. The leader at the back was Nacho who said "we needed a win like this with a lot of goals and total domination against a tough opponent."
Nacho hailed the young players who filled in - Achraf and Vallejo. "They never hide and they did phenomenally, they fought and competed very well."
The defender also congratulated Cristiano Ronaldo for his double, right after he won the Ballon d'Or on Thursday, saying now he hopes the Portuguese "continues with the same dynamic he showed against Sevilla at the Club World Cup and after that".
Nacho was pleased to score too but said "the most important thing was the team's victory and to have three points in our box."
