Marco Asensio could be out for the season after injuring his knee against Arsenal

The Real Madrid winger had to be stretchered off and initial reports suggest he's torn his cruciate knee ligaments, which would rule him out for the majority of the season

Real Madrid's Marco Asensio could have already said goodbye to the 2019/20 after he suffered a serious knee injury against Arsenal in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The winger, who scored one of his team's goals and played a key role in the other, fell to the ground in pain after twisting his knee and left the pitch in tears on a stretcher.

Early reports suggest Asensio has torn his cruciate knee ligaments and, if confirmed, it would rule him out for between six and nine months.

Zinedine Zidane admitted after the game that it didn't look good.

The player went straight to the hospital to undergo further tests. So far there hasn't been an official medical report released by the club.
