The Brazilian has suffered an injury which could last between two to three weeks

Real Madrid's Brazilian left-back Marcelo Vieira will miss the end of the league season because of an adductor injury.

Madrid said the defender had suffered the injury in his left thigh in a statement on Friday. The Brazilian played against Athletic at the weekend but did not train today.

It's the fourth injury he's suffered this campaign, all four muscular. He has played 23 games, a total of 1854 minutes. Marcelo will be replaced by Ferland Mendy in the side, starting off tonight against Alaves.

Madrid's last four games take place in the space of 10 days to Marcelo's injury, usually a two to three week thing, will stop him from playing in the rest of the season most likely, but he will aim to be back to face Man City in the Champions League on August 7.
