Man United edging ahead of Real Madrid in Erling Haaland race

The Norwegian forward is the hottest name on the transfer market going forward

Erling Haaland is expected to move to a big European side next summer. Real Madrid think they have an advantage because he wants to play for them, but Haaland’s people are more focused on him playing for the top bidder. His father Alf-Inge and agent Mino Raiola hope to get the maximum income possible and Dortmund, who are trying to raise his release clause, are doing the same.

Madrid are one of the main contenders but not the only one. Chelsea, PSG, Bayern, Barcelona and Man City are also following him. Man United have also made a strategic move by hiring Ralf Rangnick, who coached him at Salzburg and Leipzig. The club have offered the coach another 10m euros to lure the player, per Bild.

Rangnick has replaced Solskjaer on the bench and United are looking ahead to the summer. They are willing to offer up to 118m euros to reach a deal with Dortmund, although his release clause is 75m.

They will have to add 60m euros of commission to the agent of the player and his father. Plus, another 30m euros net per season for the player. An astronomic investment of around 210m euros next summer to get the hottest talent in Europe.
