Madrid media opens the debate over Cristiano Ronaldo's form

He struggled to get into the game against Sevilla and is not having his best season

The Madrid press have re-opened the debate on Cristiano Ronaldo's form just days after the Real Madrid star added FIFA's The Best to his fourth Ballon d'Or.

Despite regularly claiming he's the best player in the world, it seems that in Madrid Ronaldo is no longer seen as a player who can still decide games. The most recent example being against Sevilla on Sunday, when Los Blancos lost 2-1.

Tomas Roncero of Diario AS was one of those to question the Portuguese international.

He wrote: "Enough with all the rotations. I miss the off-the-leash, heroic, indefatigable, ultra-competitive, ready-to-play every game Cristiano Ronaldo (...) Since [Zinedine] Zidane started rationing the efforts of the Portuguese, each weekend I see Cristiano struggling to get into games (...) Against Granada a week ago, we saw little participation: a good headed goal and little more. On Sunday in Seville: an impeccably executed penalty and three missed chances, which was unusual for him."

Zidane's rotations with the Portuguese have set the alarm bells ringing in some sections of madridismo and they now hope the French coach begins to count on him more regularly once again.
