The right-back has not been happy with stories written about him in recent days

Real Madrid and Spain right-back Daniel Carvajal has hit out at reports that have emerged in recent days with a scathing attack on the press.

The Madrid player's lukewarm response to the case of Luis Rubiales' kiss with Jennifer Hermoso has once again put him in the spotlight.

More than once linked to positions close to the extreme right, the defender has now announced legal action to defend his "honour".

The player has decided to use his social media accounts to respond to news and accusations that have appeared recently in media outlets such as 'The Objective'.

Allegations have re-surfaced about Carvajal's actions of a sexual nature during the 2018 World Cup, so he has chosen to take legal action after the dissemination of the news.

He wrote: "All the information that has been published in the press in recent days referring to me is totally false. From my links to political parties to a sexual assault at the Russia 2018 World Cup.

"I find it absolutely regrettable and extremely delicate that the media have the right to write with impunity, giving credibility to the words of third parties, tarnishing my name and honour. I have already taken legal action."
