The Los Blancos president has fired the first missile with his Mbappe and Ney comments

With Real Madrid knocked out off all the competitions this season in a humiliating week, the European champions are looking to react and the PSG dressing room seems to be where they are looking.

“Both of them,” said Florentino Perez when asked to choose one of PSG’s two strikers, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

Maybe he was high on Zidane, having just presented the coach again as Madrid manager, but the Madrid chief doesn’t usually give that kind of comment without a thread to pull on.

PSG’s defeat in the last 16 by Manchester United have turned PSG into one of the most ruinous sporting projects in recent times. Sheik Al-Khelaifi is not planning to leave in the short term but everything could be thrown out of the window.

They have spent over a billion on stars like Neymar (222m), Mbappe, Cavani, Ibra, Thiago Silva, Di Maria…

During Barca’s war with PSG, Real Madrid have stayed on the margins, even at times appearing friendly towards the Parisians.

Madrid denied they were working on Mbappe and Neymar after Cristiano left, but Florentino’s new comments signify something might have changed.

If they keep knocking at the door of the Parc des Princes, they may provoke a total war.

Mbappe has declared his loyalty to PSG, but Neymar has never quite done the same and ignored the siren song from elsewhere.

The French response might be to come back at Madrid and try to sign some of their star players.
