"Madre mia, what a question," Zidane said when asked about Bale

Zinedine Zidane, the Real Madrid coach, was annoyed when he was asked about Gareth Bale's situation at the club and if he wanted the Welshman to leave in the summer.

There is reportedly a rift between Zidane and Bale, who has not played much since the restart and has made more headlines for his behaviour in the stands -- where he's pretended to take a siesta and then watch the match through fake binoculars.

However, the French manager says Madrid are united as they close in on their second league title under him and their first since 2017. A win against Villarreal on Thursday will get them over the line.

"Madre mia, what a question," Zidane said when asked about Bale. "[Gareth] is one of us. You try to put things between us, but you won't be able to.

"We're united. We all think the same way, Gareth, James [Rodriguez], everyone here, we want the same thing."
