Machis ends Courtois' run as the Belgian concedes first goal in 506 minutes
The Real Madrid keeper was beaten at his near post after Casemiro lost possession in midfield
Darwin Machis was the man to finally beat Thibaut Courtois after the keeper went five matches without conceding. The Belgian kept the opposition out for a total of 506 minutes. The previous goal coming from Real Sociedad's Mikel Merino.
Since that match he kept clean sheets against Mallorca (2-0), Espanyol (0-1), Getafe (1-0), Athletic (0-1) and Alavés (2-0).
Machis' goal saw Granada get back into the contest just five minutes into the second half. Carlos Fernandez thread the ball into Machis, who had the pace to beat the defenders and slot it through Courtois' legs.
In the end Madrid hung on for a valuable three points.
