Luka Modric has expressed his frustation through Twitter after Real Madrid lost everything in the space of a week. Knocked out of the Copa del Rey by Barca, losing against the Catalans in La Liga to go 12 points behind in the title race and then booted out of the Champions League by Ajax.
After three Champions League wins in a row, coming second in the Russia World Cup and winning the Ballon d'Or, Luka Modric has gone from hero to zero. He says that at 33 years old, after being a professional for 17 years, that this has been "the worst week of my career".
The Madrid No 10 added: "Success doesn't consist in not falling, but in getting back up every time you call."
