Ramos, as the captain and representative of the team, told Florentino: "Pay me and I'll leave." He also accused Perez of not properly planning for the season after Cristiano Ronaldo left, an absence the team has not been able to deal with.

The captain did not think the president's words were fair and he said: "I've given everything and I've broken my face for this badge, for this club and even for you."

After that conversation, Perez met other chiefs at the club to discuss if Solari should be sacked immediately and who his replacement should be.
