Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp targets Real Madrid forward Vinicius

Klopp wants to add more depth to his attack at Anfield

The Real Madrid squad has lost value in recent seasons. Throw in the coronavirus pandemic and the club's financial position has been weakened, forcing a change of policy. The priority now is to sell and they don't have many players who could bring in big money. Vinicius is one of them, especially as he is sought after by big clubs like Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain.

Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp wants to strengthen his side in attack and Vinicius is a target. It's not the first time the Brazilian's appeared on his radar. The German's followed him for a while. He also would like Kylian Mbappe -- Liverpool are Madrid's main rival for the French forward. Selling Vinicius would reduce the competition for Mbappe and give them money to fund the deal.

Vinicius, 20, hasn't taken off at Real Madrid and coach Zinedine Zidane shows less confidence in him all the time. There are question marks over his development and his end product. A lot of people at the club are tiring of waiting for him to come good.

He has a contract until 2025 and a 700 million euro release clause. Madrid paid 45 million for him three years ago and would listen to big offers. His age and potential excited a lot of clubs, even if there are doubts about whether he can fulfill the potential that took him to the Spanish capital as a teenager.
