The players has confirmed he wanted to join the Spanish side in the summer

Kylian Mbappe and Florentino Perez's comments in recent hours have put the French striker's move to Real Madrid back in the spotlight.

Mbappe confirmed he wanted to leave for Madrid in the summer, asking Paris Saint-Germain to sell him in July, and Perez said there will be news in January.

PSG are furious at what has been said in the media this week, with sporting director Leonardo biting back on Tuesday. Comments from Karim Benzema and Carlo Ancelotti have also upset the Brazilian.

"It's a lack of respect towards PSG and towards Mbappe," Leonardo said. "In fact, in the same week, a Real Madrid player, later their coach now their president have spoken about Kylian as if he was one of their players.

"Florentino had already spoken to fans this week about Mbappe. I repeat: it's a lack of respect that we cannot tolerate."

Leonardo continued: "This has been happening for two years. I would like to remind people that the transfer market has closed and there's a season underway.

"There are games and Madrid cannot keep behaving in this manner. it has to stop now! Mbappe is a PSG player and the club want this relationship to last."
