LaLiga chief Tebas 'confirms' Florentino Perez is 'untouchable' in Spain

Javier Tebas spoke about the accusations made against the Madrid president on Tuesday

Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga, referred to the words of former police commissioner José Manuel Villarejo on RAC-1, where he claimed that Florentino Pérez bribed referees and that the Los Blancos president is "untouchable" in Spain.

Speaking at the 'Meet LaLiga' event, Tebas was skeptical of the first accusation, while he sided with Villarejo on the Real Madrid president's impunity status.

"Villarejo has said two things, that Florentino bribed referees and he says he is untouchable, too. On the first, if he has something, let him prove it," Tebas said.

"Villarejo talks a lot, he has a beak and his tactics to denounce things are incredible, very condemnable. That's why I often talk about 'Villarejo-style journalists,' you make up a story, you publish it and then you take it to court to try to see what.... You'll have to get more out.

"But the second part, which says that Florentino is untouchable, that Rubalcaba had told him, I believe that one. Because it's not that Villarejo says it, it's a 'vox populi' thing in this country. Everyone knows it, it's an objective fact. Rubalcaba was a close friend of Florentino and it all fits together.

"Because as he is untouchable, that Rubalcaba, who was a close friend of Florentino, says it and that Villarejo, who was a policeman and Rubalcaba was Minister of the Interior, says it, is within what could fit for me."
