Julen Lopetegui chose the Costa Rican stopper ahead of the Belgian new boy

Real Madrid coach Julen Lopetegui picked Keylor Navas to start ahead of Thibaut Courtois to be the goalkeeper in the club's Champions League debut clash with Roma.

Despite being the club's big signing this summer, Courtois' place between the sticks seems far from guaranteed. Navas started the first two league games, against Getafe and Girona, as well as the European Super Cup against Atletico.

Then in came Courtois, in goal against Leganes and Athletic Bilbao. However he was not kept in the team to face Roma on Wednesday.

This is Lopetegui's starting XI: Keylor Navas, Carvajal, Varane, Ramos, Marcelo, Kroos, Casemiro, Modric, Isco, Bale and Benzema.
