Karim Benzema stays in the gym but will be ready to face Villarreal

Real Madrid's first team restarted training on Wednesday after two days off. Zinedine Zidane is working without various players who are with their national teams. Karim Benzema, too. He suffered an injury against Valencia and was taken off.

Benzema is working in the gym but should be back for their next game against Villarreal, in a week and a half.

Zidane divided up the squad to do a demanding circuit which combined physical work and ball work. As well as Benzema, Lucas Vazquez, Alvaro Odriozola and Ferland Mendy did also not take part, as well as Fede Valverde, who was continuing his recovery process after a back problem that will keep him out for at least a month. 

The players will train again on Thursday for their second session of the week.
