Tottenham Hotspur officially announce that Harry Kane has signed a new six-year deal at the Premier League club

Tottenham's red-hot striker Harry Kane won't be Real Madrid's star signing this summer. The English international chose not to listen to the rumours coming out of the Santiago Bernabeu and instead pen a new contract with Tottenham which will run until 2024. Aside from adding a further two years to his previous contract, the new deal will almost make him the best paid player at the North London club.

The terms of his new agreement with Spurs will also see him double his salary at the club. His previous salary appeared outdated for a player who is prolific goalscorer and is attracting interest from Europe's best clubs. Kane will now earn €6m per season according to British newspaper 'The Independent'.

Tottenham's chairman, Daniel Levy, has moved quickly to ensure his star man won't be leaving the club. With this news coming just a few days after Mauricio Pochettino also signed a new deal, it represents a double blow for Real Madrid's attempts to lure the duo away from North London.
