Julen Lopetegui: We deserved to beat Roma

Julen Lopetegui was pleased with his Real Madrid team's win over Roma at the Bernabeu on Wednesday. A 3-0 triumph.
"The win against a team like Roma, who last season were a goal away from the Champions League final, stays with me, we knew they were going to make things hard for us," said the coach.
"We did well, in defence and in attack. In football we know that if we don't take our chances we may pay for it. In the first half we had a lot and we lacked accuracy, but in the second we were accurate and we deserved the three points."
On Mariano, who scored on his re-debut, Lopetegui added: "He's working hard in training and knew how to take his chance. But not just him. There are other players who haven't played yet but will have their chances during the season."
