How Puigdemont celebrated Girona's victory over Real Madrid
The president of Catalonia expressed his joy on social media
Although there were rumours he would appear, Puigdemont did not attend the game
One of Girona's fans who celebrated their victory over Real Madrid was Carles Puigdemont. In recent days it was speculated that he would appear at the game at Montilivi, as the Catalan president is a fan, but while he watched it discreetly away from the stadium, he showed his joy on social media afterwards.
Puigdemont turned to Twitter to write "Great Girona beating Madrid 2-1 at Montilivi (and the say of Saint Narcis), well done, and we continue!"
The chief was happy the win fell on the day of the patron saint of Girona, Saint Narcis, while festivities were enjoyed across the city. The win was the best way to contribute to the good atmosphere.
