He somehow didn't see a clear Barcelona goal against Real Betis

Alejandro Jose Hernandez Hernandez, from the Las Palmas committee, has been chosen as the best referee in La Liga 2016-17. Hernandez Hernandez, despite controversial decisions like not allowing a clear Barcelona goal to stand against Real betis, was given a rating of 9.58. 

He finished ahead of Carlos del Cerro Granda from the Madrid committee (9.54) and Jesus Gil Manzano (9.46), Extremadura. 

Carlos Clos Gomez retires, while Rioja's Daniel Ocon Arraiz and Basque Inaki Vicandi Garrido are relegated with 8.85 and 8.60 ratings respectively. Coming up to the top flight are Asturian Pablo Gonzalez Fuertes (9.65), Catalan David Medi Jimenez (9.57) and Javier Alberola Rojas (9.56).
