Getafe 0-1 Real Madrid: Militao guides Los Blancos top
The capital club won in the southern suburbs by a single goal
Real Madrid moved top of La Liga with a narrow win over Getafe on Saturday, before Barcelona can go back ahead on Sunday when they face Celta Vigo.
Eder Militao headed home from a corner to open the scoring in the fourth minute and that was the only goal of the game.
Getafe should have equalised but Borja Mayoral failed to get a touch on a cross-shot from close range.
Madrid were awarded a penalty when Vinicius was fouled but the ball had gone out of play first so it was disallowed.
Rodrygo had a goal ruled out for offside too, on a night where they won by the minimum but never looked like throwing it away.
“Keeping a clean sheet is very important,” said Ancelotti. “It’s something we did last year, because defensively we were very good.
“The Clasico is still far away, we have another game, so I was able to rest players who were tired, Karim, Mendy, maybe others.”
