Gareth Bale renews his contract at Real Madrid until 2022

The Welshman agreed it a while back but Madrid made the news official on Sunday morning after they beat Alaves

Gareth Bale has penned a new contract with Real Madrid, which keeps him with Los Blancos until 2022, when he will be 33.

Madrid have ended speculation surrounding the Welshman and a possible transfer move to the Premier League.

Bale arrived at Madrid in 2013 and his initial contract took him until June 2019. His renewal arrives after those of Toni Kroos, Luka Modric and Lucas Vazquez. The next is likely to be Cristiano Ronaldo.

The forward will speak at a press conference on Monday at 1.30pm CET.

Bale has won two Champions Leagues, one Copa del Rey, one European Super Cup and one Club World Cup since joining Los Blancos.
