Madrid fans are losing patience with the former Tottenham forward

He has struggled with injuries and, as a result, his form has dipped

If there are two names which have been singled out since Real Madrid's loss to Barcelona in the Clasico, it's Zinedine Zidane and Gareth Bale. The former, for picking Bale, and the latter, for his poor performances in comparison to James Rodriguez, Isco and, above all Marco Asensio, the other candidates to start the game.

Bale, whose place in the team is not up for debate with Zidane, injured his calf against Bayern Munich and missed the next two games. The French coach, though, as he's done throughout the season, picked him in the Clasico even knowing he was not 100 percent. It didn't go well, with the former Tottenham man forced off injured after half an hour. If Madrid still had another change, who knows if they would have done it in stoppage time and left Barça without time for ther winning goal.

Injury problems have left Bale on the sideline for four months this season. Aside from his fragility physically, his recent performances have been mediocre, too. He has scored just nine goals, the same as Asensio, and the Santiago Bernabeu has lost patience with the forwards. The BBC in general are not getting their best results.

And people have began to turn against the Welshman. "His influence on the team was scarce" and "Bale, a star made of glass" are some of the titles in the Madrid press on Monday. Equally, Zidane suffered criticism for sticking with Bale. Madridismo don't understand wht players like Karim Benzema and Bale continue playing while the supposed back-up players are performing much better.

Bale will undergo tests on Monday, but his latest injury doesn't look good and he could miss the Champions League semi-final against Atletico Madrid -- which could actually end up being good news for Madridismo.
