Florentino Perez's Real Madrid dream for 2022: Unite Mbappe with Haaland

The Madrid president wants the game's two brightest starts to move to the Bernabeu

The new season has only just got started but Real Madrid are already planning ahead. After a complicated summer, and without being able to make the star signing he dreamed of, Florentino Perez is eyeing some historic operations for next year.

According to Marca, the Madrid president is focused on making his club the dominant side of the next decade by signing two of the game's biggest stars: Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland.

Two for one

With the Santiago Bernabeu reforms nearly complete, Perez now wants to make sure he has a spectacular team to play there. The plan is clear: to sign Mbappe for free and reunited him with Haaland, who has a buyout clause next summer.

PSG turned down all of Madrid's bids for Mbappe this summer, the last being worth around €200 million. From Jan. 1, with his contract up in 2022, Mbappe's free to negotiate with other clubs.

Therefore, PSG will not be able to stand in his way if he doesn't renew, which will free Madrid's cash up to focus on another player, too.

Perez wants the successors to Messi and Ronaldo to both come to Madrid. He feels they can mark a decade and that Madrid have the financial power to make it happen. Haaland's clause is speculated to be around €75m next summer to leave Borussia Dortmund.
