The Real Madrid chief spoke at a club members assembly in the morning

Real Madrid held their assembly for socios on Sunday. There, they will approve their accounts for last season, and the budget for this one. It was delayed because of technical problems.

Once Florentino Perez did start to speak, he gave a speech to the socios. In it he attacked ECA and PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

“The Super League will not be a closed competition, 25% of the places would be open,” said Perez. “The president of the ECA said that Madrid were afraid of competition, maybe we should remind him who Real Madrid are.”

Perez also said that if Nadal and Djokovic could play each other so many times in tennis, why have Real Madrid and Liverpool played each other so few times in football.

“Football needs to be run professionally, in a modern way, and transparently. Offering a quality product brings back hope and passion. We should stop it deteriorating.”
