The president does not want the Croatian midfielder to leave

Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez is refusing to let midfielder Luka Modric leave the club. The Croatian has an offer from Inter Milan. This is despite a pact with the player he has, which he is now denying.

"Modric will not go to Real Madrid. He will not go for one euro less than his release fee, which is 750 million euros," said Perez before Madrid beat Juventus in a friendly in the USA.

A posture that coach Julen Lopetegui is taking too. "The president said it already and there's nothing else to say. An extraordinary player whom we are waiting for with open arms.

"I spoke with him after the World Cup. We will talk on the 8th about whether he can be here or not for the 15th, our first objective for the season (European Super Cup). He's a player who I love. He will be pleased with our proposal. He loves playing football here and it will be easy."
