Florentino Perez insists Real Madrid won't play Liga game in USA
The Los Blancos chief is not having any of it and will not allow the club to go to the States
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez spoke to Real Madrid fans at an assembly for members and he said that he would never play a league game in the USA.
“We will not go to the United States,” said Perez. “I don’t know to whose interest it is, but it’s not for the clubs or for the fans, an absolute no.”
The assembly started with a video round-up of a successful season which saw Madrid win the European Cup in football and basketball.
“We should avoid making the error of thinking that triumphs arrive easily,” said Perez. “Behind the titles that mark this era there is a lot of work and sacrifice.
“In sport you have to know how to win and how to lose, that’s why in this historic cycle we cannot think that we have the right to always win.
“We should value what we have been doing, champions of Europe in football and basketball for the first time in the history of sport, the club with the most European Cups, the most followers on social media and more incomings than any institution in the history of sport.”
